Fly fishing has nothing to do with flying fish, flying fishermen and the like, although some people really believe this!!

In short one can say:
The classic form of fly-fishing means that we serve our "target fish" a natural insect, which has been prepared through artificial drying, a so-called "wet fly" or nymph "Sun bite", so that this appetizer looks so delicious and real that the fish bites. A "target-fish" includes almost all our fish species in season, including other fish species from other parts of the world, either  fresh or salt water fish.

The artificial insects are imitations of real insects (mayflies, stone caddis flies, various species of mosquitoes, fleas and various other species). These insects offered to the fish in one of two stages, either in the nymph (larvae) stage or tied as a so-called "dry fly". Besides these two possibilities, there are also "wet flies" and "streamers". Wet flies can represent different stages of growth of an insect. A "streamer" is an imitation of a tiny fish or breeding fish, and is actually, in its strictest sense, has little to do with genuine fly-fishing, but can nevertheless be very exciting!
